Tate Worlds – Minecraft, Tea and more Tea…

So, hello there,

It has been a while since the last post, I have not found anything to do to the Pink Floyd song mentioned in my last post. It’s not the first or last time I have been distracted, but, it will be on the list of songs to paint.

There has been a lot of tea consumed in recent weeks rather than actually doing anything as such. I have been looking at mixing rough line drawing with watercolor to create a juxtaposition of texture and feelings, but it’s not settling quite right.

Random Skull…. my creative mojo has alas broken

I’m not sure what direction It’s all going at the moment, but I am starting to learn that as with music, tastes change in the blink of an eye. It’s all gone quite a bit darker at the moment, which I may explore. I think it would be a good exercise to try and get out some of my deeper head shenanigans.

In other news, I really really quite like Minecraft and I found that the Tate did something called Tate Worlds in 2014 -2015 and it looks genius:

“Tate Worlds are exciting Minecraft ‘maps’ that present virtual environments inspired by artworks from Tate’s collection.

The ‘maps’, or games allow players of Minecraft to enjoy artworks like never before. Delve into imaginary worlds inspired by famous paintings and the real-life places they depict. Undertake challenges relating to the themes of each artwork, explore how they were made and hear the stories they have to tell.” – Taken from TATE website

I have no idea if it can still be played but I am going to investigate. I love playing Minecraft ALOT.

Take Care
